Worked as Visiting Scholar at the Université Paris Nanterre, Université Neuchâtel, and Université Blaise Pascal Clermont-Ferrand II. His current interest lies in the psychological and normative dimensions of issues of trust and distrust, blame and forgiveness. His latest book, La couleur du goût. Psychologie et esthétique au siècle de Hume (Paris, 2019), deals with sentimentalist and rationalist approaches to value judgements.

His area of research comprises Aesthetics and Modern Philosophy, with emphasis on Kantian philosophy, its predecessors and influences. Published several papers on authors such as Kant, Rousseau, Diderot, Nietzsche and Cassirer, and translated Kant’s Beobachtungen über das Gefühl des Schönen und Erhabenen into Portuguese.
