CÍNTIA VIEIRA DA SILVA

Bachelor degree, master degree and doctorate in Philosophy from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, with collaborative period on ENS-LSH (Lyon, France). Post-doctoral research about dance at the Universidade de São Paulo post-graduate studies program. Professor at Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. Researches the body as a philosophical question, the relationship between body and image in its aesthetical, ethical, political and epistemological implications, having Deleuze, Espinosa and, more recently, Paul B. Preciado, as main references. Author of the books Corpo e pensamento: alianças conceituais entre Deleuze e Espinosa and Devires filosofantes. President of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.

FERNANDA PROENÇA
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE MINAS GERAIS

Bachelor degree in Philosophy from Universidade de São Paulo. Master degree in Philosophy from Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto. Currently, doctorate student at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, CAPES scholarship holder. Her research focuses on Aesthetics, specially on Theodor Adorno and contemporary issues regarding museums and the curatorial exercise. Board member of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.

MIGUEL GALLY
UNIVERSIDADE DE BRASÍLIA

Studied philosophy at Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and at Westfälische Wilhelms Universität Münster. Recipient of research scholarships from CNPq – National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service, CAPES – Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and FAP-DF – Foundation for Research Support of Federal District. Visiting professor at Graduate Programs in Philosophy (2008-2010) and Architecture and Urbanism (2016) both at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Visiting Researcher at Universidade de São Paulo (2016), University of Amsterdam (Post-Doc, 2017-2018) and at the Freie Universität Berlin (Postdoctoral, 2017-2018). Since 2018 Associate Professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art and of Architecture at the Department of Theory and History of Architecture and Urbanism as well as in the Research and Graduate Program of the School of Architecture and Urbanism at Universidadede Brasilia. Chair of the “Ambiente 33: spatiality, communication, aesthetics and technology – Interdisciplinary Research Group/CNPq”. Chair of the Research network Aesthetics in the Center (www.esteticasnocentro.org). Board member of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.

PEDRO FRANCESCHINI
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA BAHIA

Doctorate in Philosophy at the Universidade de São Paulo, with collaborative period in Ruhr Universität Bochum/Hegel Archiv. Professor at the Universidade Federal da Bahia. Researches themes in Aesthetics and Modern Philosophy, with special focus on Romanticism and German Idealism, but also literary works. Published papers and book chapters on authors such as Schiller, Hölderlin, and Schelling, and translated into Portuguese the aesthetic writings of Herder. Board member of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.

RAFAEL LOPES AZIZE
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA BAHIA

Professor of Philosophy at the Universidade Federal da Bahia. Doctor in Philosophy from Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Master in Literary Theory from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, B.A. in English and French from Universidade de Lisboa. Academic visitor In 2017-2018 at Swarthmore College and UFSC, working under Richard Eldridge and Celso Braida. Published essays and chapters on aesthetic experience, meaning and interpretation in a pragmatic key, and edited Wittgenstein nas Américas and Em defesa das humanidades (2020), UFBA University Press. He currently researches 20th century philosophical ideas on the uses of art in the life-world, between radical autonomism and reductive instrumentalism.

ROSA GABRIELLA DE CASTRO GONÇALVES
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA BAHIA

Bachelor degree, master degree and doctorate in Philosophy from Universidade de São Paulo. Postdoctoral research on Art History at the Art and Art History Department of Stanford University. Associate professor at the Art History and Painting Department of the Universidade Federal da Bahia. Experience in Art Theory and Aesthetics, specially modern and contemporary. Published Kant, Greenberg e a questão do formalismo na arte. Board member of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.

VLADIMIR VIEIRA
UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL FLUMINENSE

Professor of Philosophy at Universidade Federal Fluminense. His area of research comprises Aesthetics and Modern Philosophy, with emphasis on Kantian philosophy, its predecessors and influences. Vieira has published several papers on authors such as Kant, Schiller, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and Hume, and translated Schiller’s aesthetic essays on tragedy and on the sublime into Portuguese. He is currently vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics.
